PCI-X is backwards compatible with conventional PCI products, which allows existing adapters to operate within a PCI environment. PCI-X adapters can be used in either PCI-X systems or a conventional PCI environment; however, the bus speed will default to the speed of the slowest adapter.

An adapter cable is not included with these adapters. The appropriate industry-standard cabling must be used when
